Kildalkey 1-18 Na Fianna 1-8

Kildalkey hosted this Round 1 Division 1 HL fixture against Na Fianna on Saturday and came away with the win to gain their first points.

A close first half saw the visitors lead by 1-6 to 0-7 at the break with the Kildalkey points coming from Conor Fitzgerald Niall McNally (3) Ryan Byas Kelvin Lynch and Ben Rickard.

The home side with the wind on their backs in the second half completely dominated. A flurry of points and a goal from the impressive Ben Rickard, Lynch, McNally, Paddy Conneely, Paddy Barnwell and Kevin McKeon Kildalkey went on to win by 1-19 to 1-8 at the full time whistle.

Ben Rickard with 1-4 and Niall McNally with 0-8 (4 from play) were the top scorers on the day while a solid defensive unit conceded only 1-5 from play in a good team display.
