HS Meath Awards: Manager of the year

December 18, 2024

Dunshaughlin's Richie Kealy

The hardest category this year. There are some exceptional managers in the county across both codes.

Shane McCoy led Meath Hill on that memorable Intermediate Football Championship roller coaster.

Pat Nolan made up for the disappointment of last year to guide Navan O’Mahony’s to the Mick Leonard Cup.

After many years of heartbreak Kevin Cahill finally got Dunsany across the line in the Junior Football Championship.

Ratoath lost county finals in 2020, 2022 and 2023 but under the guidance of former Meath great Mickey Cole they came good this year to claim their first Jubilee Cup since 1963.

Our award goes to Richie Kealy. The former Meath footballer took the Dunshaughlin reins in 2022 and guided his team to a Mattie McDonnell Cup title in his first year. Fast forward to the present and Kealy along with his backroom team of  Paul Curran, David Gallagher and Tom Clarke led the Black and Ambers back to the top with their first Keegan Cup success since 2002.

Well done Richie
