Three Meath champions were in Provincial action today.
Dunsany advanced to the Leinster Junior Football Championship semi final with six points to spare over Aughrim of Wicklow. A goal from a Jack Cottrell penalty just before half time gave the Meath champions a 1-4 to 0-3 interval lead. The Wicklow champions fought back to level the game at 1-7 each with ten minutes remaining. Kevin Cahill's charges were not to be denied. James Cahill replied a minute later with their second goal and the outstanding Cottrell added three points to earn the Peter McDermott Cup winners a 2-10 to 1-7 victory and a place in the semi final.

Navan O’Mahony’s were very unlucky not to progress in the Leinster Club Junior Hurling Championship. Avondale needed extra time to see off the Meath champions 1-21 to 0-18. With two minutes remaining in normal time O’Mahony’s led 0-16 to 0-13 but the Wicklow side hit three late points to force extra time.
Goals from a Cliodhna Nì Shè penalty, Lauren Dwyer and Maeve O’Neill proved crucial as Bennekerry Tinryland denied Meath champions Dee Rangers in the Leinster LGFA Intermediate Club Championship final. The Carlow outfit led at the break 1-6 to 0-6. It finished at Bennekerry Tinryland 3-11 Dee Rangers 0-12 at Kinnegad.
