Dee Rangers take on Summerhill in the IFC

The group stages of the Meath Ladies Kepak Intermediate Championship comes to a conclusion this Saturday.

In the Meath Ladies Kepak Intermediate Championship, Group A has St. Colmcilles hosting Simonstown and St Michaels making the journey to Ratoath on Saturday 7th of September for 5.30pm throw ins.

St Michaels make the trip knowing a win will put them into the quarter finals after their 3-09 to 1-11 win over St Colmcilles in round 2. Ratoath need a big improvement on their last outing in which they only manged to put 4 points on the board against a strong Simonstown performance. Ratoath beat St Colmcilles 2-08 to 1-10 and with both teams having a win under their belt, it will be a ding-dong battle to see who gains the advantage for the quarter finals.

Simonstown can top the group and guarantee a home semi-final if they can overcome the ‘Cilles’.

Group B is also tight and will go down to the wire. In the first round newly promoted Walterstown lost out to last year’s losing Intermediate finalists, Dee Rangers who made a statement of intent scoring a 3-09 to 1-05 win. Dee Rangers followed that up with a fine win over St Ultans 2-15 to 2-09, 2 from 2 and seem to be cruising to the semi-final, they certainly are motoring well.

Walterstown came out all cylinders firing in the 2nd round putting 4 goals past Summerhill winning 4-05 to 0-10, proving goals win games. Summerhill were outgunned by the experienced St Ultans team in the first round 3-07 to 1-09 so will need to be at their best to hold off Dee Rangers in the final round. St Ultans and Walterstown meet in the 3rd round and both teams have their eye on the quarterfinal spots.

All Intermediate games will be played on Saturday 7th September.

Entry to group games is €5 per adult, pay at the gate, with Under 16’s free.
