Thirty years since the famous 'five-minute final'

Today marks the 30th anniversary of Offaly's famous snatch-and-grab All-Ireland senior hurling final win over Limerick.
With Treaty County legend Eamonn Cregan in their corner, Offaly seemed to be facing certain defeat when they trailed Tom Ryan's Limerick by 1-11 to 2-13 with five minutes remaining at Croke Park on September 4, 1994. But a Johnny Dooley goal from a 20-metre free - which he was instructed to tap over by the management - proved the catalyst for a sensational Offaly comeback.
No sooner had Joe Quaid pucked out the ball than he was beaten for a second time by a strike from substitute Pat O'Connor. Limerick were shell-shocked as the Faithful went on to add another five points - including three from the exhausted Billy Dooley - in a whirlwind finish.
