Rathmolyon 4-11 Trim 1-9

Rathmolyon overcame Trim in the first round of the Billy Byrne Cup with Andrew Dermody back in charge of the Village.

In sticky conditions, Rathmolyon settled well with an opening goal from Cathal Regan. Ten minutes later Arthur Doyle hit the net with another goal. 

Rathmolyon kept Trim at bay for the first half as the Village led 2-8 to Trims four points with points from Cathal Regan, Arthur Doyle, Darren Hennessy, Kevin Mulligan, Ciarán Regan and Trevor Healy. 

Trim came back into the match in the second half but goals from Kevin and Stephen Mulligan kept the Village in control along with points from the Regan brothers.

A special mention goes to three young men who made their adult debuts, Joey Christie, Arthur Doyle and Sean Howley who all contributed greatly to the win.
