Michael Newman has been named at full-forward in the Meath team to come up against Longford in tomorrow's Leinster SFC quarter-final at Pairc Tailteann.

The Kilmainham clubman's last championship start in the green and gold was in the 2019 Super 8s defeat to Mayo after missing all of last season due to injury.

Manager Andy McEntee has been forced into making three changes, with full-back Conor McGill suspended, and former captains Donal Keogan and Brian Mention deemed not fit enough to start.

Summerhill's Ronan Ryan deputises for McGill on the edge of the square while Eoin Harkin and Ethan Devine fill the voids left by Keogan and Menton in defence and midfield, respectively.

Meath (Leinster SFC v Longford): Andy Colgan; Seamus Lavin, Ronan Ryan, Eoin Harkin; Cathal Hickey, Shane McEntee, Fionn Reilly; Ethan Devine, Padraic Harnan; Cillian O'Sullivan, Bryan McMahon, Matthew Costello; Jordan Morris, Michael Newman, Thomas O'Reilly.

Subs: Harry Hogan, Donal Keogan, Jordan Muldoon, James McEntee, Jack O'Connor, Joey Wallace, James Conlon, Eamon Wallace, Bryan Menton, Jason Scully, Daragh Campion.
