Ballyboden St Endas clubman Paul Ryan has announced the end of a brilliant 11-year career with the Dublin senior hurlers.

Ryan made his debut in 2008 and was part of the Dublin side that won National League and Leinster SHC titles.

In the 2013 Leinster final against Galway Ryan scored 2-7 in the win that ended a 52-year wait for provincial hurling honours.

Ryan announced his decision on Instagram and thanked all those who have been involved in Dublin hurling during his career.

"To my team-mates over the years, we had some great times and I wish you all the best lads,” wrote Ryan.

"The dream was to win an All-Ireland but unfortunately it wasn't to be. I can only hope that chapter will be written in my absence."
