Fitzgibbon ruled out of Munster SHC final

Darragh Fitzgibbon will sit out Cork's Munster SHC final against Limerick at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday week.
The Cork captain missed last Sunday's emphatic win over Clare with appendicitis and won't be risked against the Treaty County, manager Ben O'Connor confirmed at last night's press event.
“Darragh is not going to feature. We’re into the second week now and he hasn’t been on the field. We’re not going to risk Darragh," O'Connor said of the Charleville clubman.
The Cork supremo also expects Robbie O'Flynn to miss out with a hamstring injury, but is confident that Rob Downey, Niall O'Leary, Barry Walsh and Brian Hayes will make it.
“Robbie will be another couple of weeks, we think. He hasn’t tried it out yet. He’s hoping to maybe do a bit at the weekend, but it’s a chance to take,” he continued.
“If he comes back too early and hurts it, that could be his season over.”
