Galway senior hurling manager Micheál Donoghue has made some changes to his backroom team ahead of the 2026 season.

Eamon O’Shea, who won All-Ireland SHC titles as a coach with Tipperary in 2010 and 2019, will not be part of the Tribesmen’s set-up next year.

Galway-based O’Shea had previously been part of Henry Shefflin’s management team in 2024 and also previously worked with Donoghue in Tipp.

Another change within the Tribe set-up sees Connacht Rugby’s senior athletic performance coach Barry O’Brien is set to take over as Strength & Conditioning coach from former Ireland rugby international Jonny O’Connor.

This past season saw Galway reaching the Leinster SHC final where they lost out to Kilkenny before exiting the All-Ireland SHC at its quarter-final stage to eventually winners Tipperary.
