Former Derry U20 footballer Jude McAtamney is expected to make his NFL debut for the New York Giants tomorrow (Sunday).
The 24-year-old is next in line for the Giants after they announced yesterday that starting kicker Greg Joseph was ruled out for their upcoming game against the Washington Commanders at MetLife Stadium due to an abdomen injury.
Swatragh clubman McAtamney, who helped Derry to an Ulster U20FC triumph in 2018, is part of the Giants practice squad and featured in pre-season games during the summer after having joined the New York franchise as a free agent.
In an interview last month, he told BBC Sport NI: "I'm just preparing every week to be ready, even if I'm not playing. Every week is a learning opportunity, and I feel like I'm learning and getting better as time goes on."
