Kyle Hayes was sent off in the closing stages of Kildimo Pallaskenry's 1-7 to 0-18 defeat to neighbours Ballybrown in Round 2 of the Limerick SHC at a windy Rathkeale last night.

The county star was dismissed on a second yellow card as 11 points from Aidan O'Connor powered Ballybrown to their second victory in Group 2. Kildimo Pallaskenry were comfortable winners over Adare in the opening round, but were well beaten on this occasion after Ballybrown built up an unassailable 0-11 to 0-2 lead in the first half.

Monaleen, who lost to Ballybrown in the first round, got back on track with a 0-23 to 0-10 victory over South Liberties at Fedamore.
