Limerick star Kyle Hayes could be hit with a one-match retrospective ban for lashing out at Galway's Brian Concannon during last Sunday's Allianz Hurling League clash at Pearse Stadium.

Already on a yellow card, Hayes was fortunate not to receive his marching orders for striking Concannon's faceguard with his hurl during the closing stages of the All-Ireland champions' 0-24 to 0-19 victory.

The Central Competition Controls Committee (CCCC) are expected to review video footage of the incident which was missed by referee Sean Stack. If suspended, Hayes would miss Limerick's next game against Westmeath on the weekend after next.
