Heneghan, Miko

The late Miko Heneghan was the last surviving member of Cooley Kickhams' 1947 Louth JFC winning team. Originally from County Mayo, he worked in a Carlingford chemist's as manager for a short time and, aged 26, was half back on the side that famously saw off Oliver Plunketts after a replayed junior decider in '47. The Mayo man wasn't in the peninsula for long (he left again the following year) but he certainly made his mark and members of the club committee managed to track him down to present him with his 50th-anniversary memento of that terrific JFC success.
