Former Louth County Manager Paddy Lavin of Elm Park, Blackrock passed away on December 16th, 2012, aged 87. A native of Frenchpark in County Roscommon, he was a staunch supporter of the GAA all his life. Having played as a young man in Roscommon, Paddy's love for the game became such that he never missed an All-Ireland final. After arriving in Dundalk, he joined the Dundalk Gaels club, whom he served as a tireless committee member, providing great assistance as they developed their grounds on the Ramparts.
