Former councillor Jim Cousins passed away on November 14th, 2013, aged 76. Jim had begun his political career as a member of Fianna Fail but resigned from the party and in 1991 became the first Progressive Democrats representative elected to a public body in Louth. A tireless worker for charity and a former Louth County Council chairman, Jim lined out for Young Irelands in his youth and maintained a keen interest in sport throughout his life.
