Kerry have won a coin toss to wear their traditional green and gold jerseys in Sunday week’s All-Ireland SFC final.

As a result, Mayo are expected to change into the alternative navy jersey, which features a design depicting the outline of Croagh Patrick on the front. The counties agreed to the coin toss in order to avoid a clash of colours (both jerseys are predominantly green). Kerry wore their alternative royal blue jersey in last year’s All-Ireland SFC final win over Donegal, who also changed to white.

Mayo last sported their alternative jersey in their All-Ireland SFC Round 3 defeat of Meath, while they wore a white shirt – which commemorated their last All-Ireland wins in 1950 and ’51 – when they faced the Kingdom in the Allianz League in Tralee earlier this year. Indeed, there is speculation that they could yet opt to wear their retro jersey on Sunday week.
