Galway have retired their number 10 jersey this weekend as a mark of respect to the late Paul Clancy who passed away on Monday.
Cein D’Arcy is set to wear the number 22 jersey at right half-forward as Padraic Joyce's side take on Dublin at Croke Park on Sunday (4pm) for a place in the All-Ireland senior football championship semi-finals.
The only change in personnel from the Tribesmen's win over Westmeath two weeks ago sees Shane McGrath starting at centre half-forward and Fionn McDonagh dropping to the bench.
With Clancy’s funeral taking place today, Galway GAA stated: “As a mark of respect to the late Paul Clancy, R.I.P the number 10 jersey proudly worn by Paul with distinction as a player will not be used in Sunday’s match. Our thoughts are with Johanna, Ellen, Finn and the Clancy family, Paul’s friends, and his former teammates as they gather today to bid their farewell to him. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.”
