Philly McMahon has left his role as Naas senior football manager after just five months at the helm.

The Dublin legend took charge of the Kildare side in June, succeeding Joe Murphy in the role following the latter’s departure to Carlow.

McMahon would help Naas to the Division 1 league title soon after his appointment, however the team would see it’s dreams of a five-in-a-row SFC title success crushed by Athy in last month’s county final.

The eight-time All-Ireland winner posted on ‘X’ last night to confirm that he had parted ways with Naas, describing his first senior managerial role as "a hugely rewarding experience".
