No fewer than eight Irish players have been named in the initial 42-player squad for the AFLW’s 2025 All-Australian team.
Aishling Moloney (Geelong Cats and Tipperary) is one of nine players looking to gain back-to-back honours. She is joined on the shortlist by fellow countrywomen Jennifer Dunne (Brisbane Lions and Dublin), Niamh Kelly (Adelaide Crows and Mayo), Niamh McLaughlin (Gold Coasts SUNS and Donegal), Blaithin Bogue (North Melbourne and Fermanagh), Aíne McDonagh (Hawthorn and Galway) and Erone Fitzpatrick (Carlton Blues and Laois).
Last year, Aisling McCarthy (Fremantle Dockers), Aishling Moloney (Geelong Cats), Aleen Gilroy and Áine McDonagh (both Hawthorn) were the Irish players selected.
The final team of 21, which includes a captain and a vice-captain, will be announced at the W Awards on Monday, November 24.
