Tomás McCann has had the controversial red card he received in Cargin's Ulster Club SFC quarter-final loss to Glen rescinded.

The centre forward was sent off in the 26th minute of last month's clash at Celtic Park for what was deemed a dangerous high tackle on an opponent by Cavan referee Conor Dourneen.

McCann's appeal to the Ulster Council proved successful last night. After the game, which the Antrim champions lost by four points, veteran Cargin forward Kieran Close made no secret of his disgust at the decision when tweeting: “I’ve seen bigger hits at the kids U7 matches."
