Tadhg de Burca will make his first competitive start for Waterford since suffering a recurrence of a cruciate knee ligament injury during the 2020 All-Ireland SHC final against Limerick.
The 27-year-old Clashmore-Kinsalebeg clubman has been named at centre-back by manager Liam Cahill and is one of two changes to the side that drew with Dublin as the Deise welcome Laois to Walsh Park for their next assignment in the Allianz League Division 1B this afternoon (throw-in 2pm).
Cahill has rewarded Kill's Ciaran Kirwan with his full league debut at full-forward.
