Conor McManus was forced to leave the pitch with a nasty-looking leg injury as Monaghan beat Fermanagh 1-21 to 0-14 in their Ulster SFC quarter-final clash in Clones this afternoon.
The Monaghan marksman suffered the injury towards the end at St Tiernach's Park after a clumsy challenge from a Fermanagh defender and left the field on crutches in what is a huge worry for manager Seamus 'Banty' McEnaney with a semi-final against either Armagh or Antrim to come in two weeks' time. Midfielder Darren Hughes is also a concern after he picked up an injury during the early stages.
A clinical first-half performance propelled the Farney County past Fermanagh, Jack McCarron scored the game's only goal in the 17th minute. McCarron reacted quickest after goalkeeper Sean McNally had saved Kieran Duffy's shot.
