Tributes have been pouring in following the untimely passing of Dublin club footballer Neil Davoren.

Affectionately known as ‘Hector’, his club Thomas Davis have described him as “one of life’s gents”, while Dublin GAA added: “Our deepest condolences to Neil’s family, friends and all at Thomas Davis.”

In a social media post, Thomas Davis GAA said: “We’d like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the Davoren family on the passing of Neil. We are all thinking of his wife Niamh, his children Ted and Isabelle, his parents Marion and Myles, his brother Shane and sister Aoife during this very hard time for the family.

“As a club and community, we are mourning the passing of one of the clubs great characters and players Neil Davoren (Hector!) It’s never easy composing condolence messages for our Club Members, but particularly for our younger club players.

“We hope the huge show of support from the club and the wider Tallaght community over the last week has been some comfort to all the family during this difficult time. This support will continue over the time to come.”
