Mayo giants Ballintubber have named Tom Mulderrig as their new senior football manager.

The former Bohola Moy Davitts player and manager fills the vacancy left by joint-managers Damien Coleman and Cathal Hallinan, who stepped down in the wake of Ballintubber’s Mayo SFC quarter-final extra-time defeat to Castlebar Mitchels.

Mulderrig was in charge of the Mayo U19 development squad this year.

“Ballintubber GAA Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Mulderrig as the new senior team manager for 2024. We wish Tom, his backroom team and all our players the very best of luck in 2024,” the club said in a Facebook post.

“Tom's appointment comes following the recent departure of Damien Coleman and Cathal Hallinan from their managerial roles.

"We would like to thank Cathal, Damien, their coaches and backroom team for all their hard work, dedication and professionalism shown throughout the past year," Ballintubber GAA stated.

"We look forward to one day working with them again within the club and wish them all the very best for the future."
