Age isn't a barrier for Castlerea semi-supercentenarian Michael Coyne.
During last Sunday's Roscommon SFC final in Hyde Park, well-known local photographer Brian Farrell snapped the sprightly 105-year-old enjoying himself at the big game between Strokestown and Boyle.
“I knew I would see plenty of familiar faces,” Brian said in a social media post, “and the first one was Neil McGarry who was doing volunteering on the day. ‘How’s the uncle,’ I asked, referring to 105 years old Michael Coyne of Fairymount, Castlerea, who lives with Neil in Boyle. ‘No bother,’ said Neil. ‘He’s here for the game having a small one in the clubhouse.'”
“The 105 years old legend told me I was looking well.
“What a man!”
