Mullingar Shamrocks' Dillon Matthews scored a stunning individual goal in his side's four-point win over Killucan in the Westmeath SFC yesterday afternoon.
The TEG Cusack Park third round clash featured five goals, but the corner-back's strike just after the first water-break was undoubtedly the pick of them.
Matthews picked up possession inside his own 45-yard line and took off on a barnstorming solo run while fending off tacklers at his will before finishing brilliantly to the top corner of the net!
Shamrocks won on a 3-11 to 2-10 scoreline to go top of Section B, while Caulry and Rosemount sit joint-second in the table after their 1-10 to 0-13 draw in Moate.
Meanwhile, Coralstown-Kinnegad continued their rich vein of form with a 1-15 to 2-3 victory against Athlone in Mullingar.
Nigel Boardman netted the winners' goal as Liam McNeill's charges join The Downs at the top of the Section A table.
