St Finbarr’s are through to the semi-finals of the Munster club senior football championship thanks to a dramatic 1-17 to 2-11 victory over Clonmel Commercials this afternoon.
The Cork champions landed the last four points to seal the win in Clonmel, where William Buckley (2), Cillian Myers-Murray and Ian Maguire grabbed the scores in the closing stages to edge them over the line.
The home side had been trailing by 0-6 to 0-3 when Cian Smith netted their first goal to level matters in the 13th minute, but skipper Steven Sherlock would send St Finbarr’s back in front with a two-pointer ahead of points via Seamus and Jack Kennedy and Quinlivan sailing over at the other end.

Conor Dennehy pulled back a goal for the Barrs, but a Darragh O’Connor effort from beyond the arc meant that Commercials would take in a 1-9 to 1-8 lead at the half.
The visitors went ahead again after the change of ends before a well-timed goal surged Commercials in front once more and they’d a hold a 2-11 to 1-13 advantage with two minutes left in normal time.
Buckley’s point levelled it before Myers-Murray, Buckley and Maguire shot over unaswered scores which sealed Barrs their place in the last four of the southern province against Clare champions Eire Og Ennis.
