The tributes have been flowing since news broke this morning of the legendary Mick O’Dwyer’s death.
The Waterville native won four All-Ireland SFC titles with Kerry as a player before guiding his native county to eight Sam Maguire Cup triumphs as manager.
Kerry GAA led the tributes to ‘Micko’ with a statement released this morning which began: “Kerry GAA was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mick O’Dwyer this morning. Affectionately known as ‘Micko’, he was more than just a legendary figure in Kerry GAA he was a symbol of pride for the county – spanning decades.”
