The Limerick team to face Wexford in Sunday's Allianz Hurling League opener at Chadwick's Wexford Park includes nine of the side that started last year's All-Ireland SHC final rout of Cork.

Nickie Quaid, Barry Nash, Declan Hannon, Gearoid Hegarty, Dan Morrissey, Tom Morrissey, Diarmuid Byrnes, Aaron Gillane and William O'Donoghue have been named in a strong line-up which is notable for the absence of Hurler of the Year Cian Lynch, who was on Fitzgibbon Cup duty for NUIG during the week.

Brian O’Grady, Colin Coughlan, Cathal O’Neill, Richie English, David Reidy and Pat Ryan are also included after showing up well in the recent Munster Cup.

Limerick (SH v Wexford): Nicky Quaid; Barry Nash, Dan Morrissey, Richie English; Diarmuid Byrnes, Declan Hannon (captain), Colin Coughlan; Brian O'Grady, William O'Donoghue; Cathal O'Neill, Tom Morrissey, Gearoid Hegarty; Aaron Gillane, Pat Ryan, David Reidy.
