Paudie Clifford has admitted it’s “disappointing” to see Jerome Stack depart as Fossa manager, with the Kerry club preparing for their Munster club intermediate football championship campaign.

Stack stepped down just weeks after guiding Fossa to the Kerry intermediate championship title and securing senior status for the club for the first time.

Speaking at the launch of the AIB All-Ireland club championships, Clifford highlighted the manager’s contribution over the past two seasons.

“He put a lot of work in over the last two years, so it is disappointing,” Clifford is quoted saying by RTE Sport.

“We definitely wouldn’t have won the intermediate without him.”

Fossa are now searching for a replacement ahead of their Munster semi-final, with Clifford acknowledging the disruption caused by the sudden departure.

“It is (disruptive) because Jerome did unbelievable work with us,” said the Kerry star. “The club are working on things in the background. The players are ready to play and train.

“We worked away ourselves this week. We’re waiting now for the club to come to a decision.”
