Dingle manager Padraig Corcoran wasn't gettting carried away with his side's 2-15 to 0-2 Munster club SFC semi-final mauling of an understrength Mungret St Paul's.
The West Kerry outfit now have an opportunity to atone for their 2023 penalty shootout heartbreak against Castlehaven when they face St Finbarr's in the provincial final on Sunday week. Corcoran is hoping midfielder Mark O'Connor will once again be available before he heads back to Geelong in the AFL.
“The aim was to win the game. They were down six or seven fellas from their county championship team, and that inhibited them today. I thought in the first half we were only so-so, even though we were 1-8 to no score up. We knuckled down, and we were better in the second half,” Corcoran told reporters after the win in Austin Stack Park.
“We were just disappointed with some of our handling, and our final pass wasn’t great. We left a couple of scores behind us, but 1-8 wasn’t bad kicking, although we would have been happier with a bit more."
