Fermanagh GAA has offered its “heartfelt condolences” to the family and friends of those impacted by the tragic incident which occurred near Maguiresbridge yesterday.

There was shock across the entire area after the news emerged that a woman in her 40s and two children died following a shooting at a property on the Drummeer Road, on the outskirts of Maguiresbridge.

They have since been named locally as veterinary surgeon Vanessa Whyte and her children, Sarah and James.

A fourth person, a man, was injured in the shooting and remains in a serious condition at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

The PSNI have said that they are treating it as a domestic incident.

Fermanagh GAA, along with the Maguiresbridge St Mary’s and Lisbellaw St Patrick’s Hurling Clubs, expressed their sympathies to the family and friends of the victims on social media yesterday.

"Fermanagh GAA offer our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those impacted by the tragic incident which happened in our community this morning," Fermanagh GAA wrote.

"We are thinking of and supporting our clubs @Lisbellaw_HC and @BridgeGFC at this difficult time. We will not be making any further comment at this time."
