St Brigid’s have been widely praised for a congratulatory message they posted on social media in the wake of their gut-wrenching All-Ireland Club SFC final loss to Glen last Sunday.

Displaying true sportsmanship, they said: “St. Brigid's GAA Club would like to congratulate Glen on winning the All-Ireland title last Sunday. A coveted All-Ireland SFC title is the culmination of many years of blood, sweat and tears for a set of players who have finally captured the ultimate prize, no doubt helped in no small way on that journey by various people involved in their club over the preceding years. We hope you enjoy it and best of luck in the future.”

Glen said in reply: “Go raibh maith agaibh! In the words of our captain ‘The reason we found it tough was because of a gallant, brave and strong St Brigid’s team’. You will rise again.”
