Former Donegal star Brendan Devenney is mourning the death of his beloved father Patrick and sister Margaret (Sullivan).

Patrick Devenney passed away on Wednesday at the Donegal Hospice in Letterkenny, with his family by his side, while his daughter Margaret died suddenly hours later (Thursday).

Patrick, was a stalwart member of the Naomh Colmcille CLG club in Newtowncunningham, and extremely popular and well-known in GAA circles throughout Donegal.

Margaret is survived by her husband Eugene, and their children Ethan and Molly, who play with St Eunan's GAA in Letterkenny.

Patrick and Margaret’s joint funeral mass will take place tomorrow, Saturday 24th September, at 12 noon in the All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Saturday's Donegal SFC semi-finals involving St Eunan's, Kilcar and Gaoth Dobhair at MacCumhaill Park have been postponed as a mark of respect to the Devenney and Sullivan families.
