Roscommon made it back-to-back Connacht minor football championship titles thanks to a 3-12 to 1-15 victory over Galway at Tuam Stadium yesterday (Friday) evening.
Jayden Concannon and Joshua Coyne supplied the visitors’ goals in the first-half, with two-pointers from Jack Lally and Ronan Carr helping to increase the Rossies’ lead to 2-8 to 0-5 come half-time.

Two-pointers from Evan Burke (free) and Ryan Connolly helped Galway register the first six points of the second-half before they conceded the game’s third goal.
Dara Kelleher provided the superb finish for the holders in the 42nd minute and, while the hosts would trim their deficit down to three with the help of an Adam Healy goal, a Coyne free steadied the ship for Shane Moran’s lad as they held on for the two-point victory.
The result sees Roscommon now bidding for a clean sweep of provincial (senior, U20 and minor) football titles out west, with the seniors set to face Galway in the Connacht SFC final tomorrow at Dr Hyde Park (4.15pm).
