Champions Louth and Tyrone lead the way in the 2025 Teams of the TG4 All-Ireland Junior and Intermediate Championships. 

These selections honour outstanding individual displays throughout the 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Championships in the Junior and Intermediate grades. 

Tyrone were crowned TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Champions on August 3, following victory in the final over Laois, while the Junior silverware went to Louth earlier in the day, as the Wee County saw off the challenge of Antrim. 

The Teams of the Championships have now been selected by members of the LGFA’s All-Star committee – with Tyrone claiming seven slots on the Intermediate team, while Louth have seven players on the Junior selection.  

The seven Tyrone winners are defenders Jayne Lyons, Claire Canavan and Méabh Mallon, midfielder and team captain, Aoibhinn McHugh, and forward stars Sorcha Gormley (Player of the Match in the TG4 All-Ireland final), Aoife Horisk and Niamh O’Neill. 

Runners-up Laois have four players named on the Team of the Championship, namely goalkeeper Eimear Barry, defenders Clodagh Dunne and Andrea Moran, who was team captain this year, and Emma Lawlor in attack. 

Fermanagh, Westmeath and Wexford have also been acknowledged on the Team of the Championship. 

Westmeath lost out at the semi-final stage to eventual winners Tyrone but captain Fiona Coyle and ace forward Sarah Dillon are both named in the Team of the Championship. 

Brilliant Fermanagh forward Eimear Smyth and Wexford midfielder Clara Donnelly are also acknowledged for their displays during the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship. 

On the TG4 Junior Team of the Championship, winners Louth are represented by goalkeeper Rebecca Lambe Fagan, defenders Eilís Hand and Shannen McLaughlin, team captain and midfielder Áine Breen, and forwards Eimear Byrne, Kate Flood and Céire Nolan, who was Player of the Match in the TG4 All-Ireland final.

Antrim’s exploits as they reached the final are rewarded by the inclusions of defenders Niamh McIntosh, Maeve Blaney and Sarah O’Neill, midfielder Ana Mulholland, and forwards Theresa Mellon and Maria O’Neill, ensuring a healthy representation of six players for the Saffrons on the Team of the Championship. 

Sligo, who lost out to Antrim at the semi-final stage, occupy the other two slots on the team, with Tara Breheny at left half back, and Leah Duffy at right corner forward. 

Ladies Gaelic Football Association President, Trina Murray, commented: “The 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Junior and Intermediate Championships provided brilliant football and entertainment. 

“The Championships concluded with our finals at Croke Park on Sunday August 3, where the honours went to Louth in the Junior grade, and Tyrone at Intermediate level. 

“These were particularly sweet wins for both counties, who lost out in the 2024 finals but returned 12 months later to claim silverware. 

“Tyrone will return to the Senior Championship ranks for 2025, while Louth will operate in the Intermediate grade. 

“Well done to both of our champions, and I also wish to acknowledge the outstanding efforts and contributions or all teams who competed in the 2025 Championships. ”

The winners will receive their awards at a Croke Park function on Friday October 24.
