Paul Casey and Derek Murray will take over as joint-managers of the Dublin ladies footballers following Mick Bohan's decision to step away from the role.
Dublin LGFA made the announcement in a statememt today: "A special convened online meeting of the Dublin LGFA County Board will take place this evening. The Executive Committee will be putting forward a proposal to club delegates to formally ratify Paul Casey (Lucan Sarsfields) and Derek Murray (Round Tower Clondalkin) as joint managers of the Dublin senior football team.
"Paul Casey has been a selector and defensive coach with the Dublin senior squad for the last seven years, having first been appointed to the position in 2018. Paul played an instrumental role in several All Ireland winning campaigns during this time period.
"An accomplished former Inter County footballer, Paul Casey played senior football for Dublin during a ten-year period, 2002 to 2012. Paul was a member of the senior squad that won Sam Maguire in 2011 under the management of Pat Gilroy. During his inter county career Paul won eight Leinster titles; 2002, 2005-2009, 2011-2012 while also winning a Sigerson Cup with DCU in 2006.
"Derek Murray will work jointly alongside Paul as team manager. Derek has been part of the Dublin ladies senior management team since 2022 and was hugely credited with helping to guide the squad to All Ireland glory in 2023. A former Inter County footballer with Dublin GAA , Derek won an U21 All Ireland medal in 2003, holds three Leinster senior medals 2006-2008 and won two O’Byrne cup titles in 2007 and 2008.
"The additional members of the Dublin senior management backroom team will be confirmed subject to ratification in due course."
