Sadness at passing of Crossmaglen's Caolan Finnegan after cancer battle

Crossmaglen footballer Caolan Finnegan has sadly passed away from an aggressive form of brain cancer.
The 20-year-old, who also represented St Colman's College, Newry and Armagh with distinction, underwent surgery last year to remove a brain tumour and received specialist treatment in Germany after a fundraising drive raised over £300,000. But a week after asking for "prayers" for Caolan, Crossmaglen announced his passing this morning.
"A battle he fought with enormous courage, strength and dignity. We are so proud of you Caolan," the club said in a social media post
"You will be forever remembered as one of the greatest who ever donned the black and amber. Rest in peace Stringer."
Recently, Armagh captain Aidan Forker visited Finnegan along with the Sam Maguire Cup following the county's All-Ireland SFC win, while former Celtic manager Neil Lennon also paid him a visit.
All club activities have been suspended as a mark of respect.
