Jimmy Barry-Murphy celebrates 70th birthday

The GAA world has been wishing one of its biggest names a happy 70th birthday.
Cork legend Jimmy Barry-Murphy celebrated the milestone birthday yesterday, just a month after he led out the Cork silver jubliee team at Croke Park before the All-Ireland SHC final against Clare. Managing the Rebels to Liam MacCarthy Cup glory in 1999 was one of his many achievements in a remarkable career as a player and manager.
The greatest dual star to ever play the game who was loved and admired by all, the St Finbarr's clubman lit up the 1970s and 1980s by winning five All-Ireland medals, 10 Munster SHC titles, two National Leagues, one All-Ireland minor and five All-Stars awards. And that was just in hurling.
In football, he won one All-Ireland title, two Munsters, one National League, one All-Ireland minor and two All-Star awards, despite the presence of the great Kerry team of that time.
