Oisín McConville is tipping Armagh to end their 18-year wait for Ulster SFC honours on Sunday.

Armagh face local rivals Monaghan in the final and McConville is expecting the 2024 All-Ireland champions to prevail after a battle.

"I think Monaghan will cause them a lot of problems as they always have, take away the first league game [which Armagh won by 12 points]," the former Crossmaglen and Armagh sharpshooter told The GAA Social.

"The good thing for Armagh is they probably feel like they owe them one because of a bit of heartbreak down the years with penalties [in the 2023 All-Ireland quarter-final] and that.

"I do think Armagh will win the game, but it won't be in any way easy."

After shipping seven straight defeats in Division 1 of the Allianz League, Gabriel Bannigan’s men have bounced back impressively with Ulster SFC wins over Cavan and Derry.

"They've players coming back, but confidence had to be at an all-time low when they were coming in against Cavan and then Derry," McConville noted.

"Look at their league performance - that is so tough to bounce back from, so the Derry game will give them a lot of belief and they are a dangerous animal when they are like that."
