Ballygunner to field two senior teams as Waterford club draws are made

The 2026 Waterford senior and intermediate club championship draws were made on Monday night and were notable for the inclusion of two Ballygunner teams in the SHC.

The reigning All-Ireland club champions were given the go-ahead to field two senior teams after also winning the Waterford IHC title last year. Ballygunner A – who they begin their quest for a 13-in-a-row of Waterford SHC successes against Passage – are also in the same group as De La Salle, Clonea, Abbeyside/Ballinacourty and Ferrybank, while Ballygunner B have been drawn against Mount Sion, Roanmore, Fourmilewater, Lismore and Dungarvan.

The draws are as follows:

Waterford Senior Hurling Championship 2026

Group A:
Ballygunner A, De La Salle, Clonea, Passage, Abbeyside/Ballinacourty, Ferrybank

Group B:
Mount Sion, Roanmore, Fourmilewater, Lismore, Dungarvan, Ballygunner B

Waterford Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship 2026

Group A:
Brickey Rangers, Clashmore/Kinsalebeg, Shamrocks, Affane/Cappoquin/Tourin

Group B:
Tallow, An Rinn, Ballysaggart, Portlaw

Waterford Senior Football Championship 2026

Group A:
The Nire, Gaultier, An Rinn, Kilrossanty

Group B:
Rathgormack, Abbeyside/Ballinacourty, Roanmore, Stradbally

Waterford Premier Intermediate Football Championship 2026
