An Ghaeltacht (Kerry) captured their second Munster club intermediate football championship title with a 2-12 to 1-8 win over Aghabollogue (Cork) in Rathkeale this afternoon.

Two goals in the opening dozen minutes paved the way for the Kerry champions’ triumph at Mick Neville Park, where they sealed their club’s first success on this stage since 2017.

Éanna Ó Conchúir’s early goal set the tone for the would-be winners, with Matthew Bradley hammering in one at the other end before Ruaidhrí Ó Beaglaoich fired to the roof of the Aghabollogue net.

The Cork champions battled back with two-point scores from John Corkery and Adam Murphy to draw the game level before half-time (2-3 to 1-6).

Cathal Ó Beaglaoich’s ‘45’ pushed An Ghaeltacht ahead early in the restart and the men from the Kingdom would go up by three again prior to Ó Beaglaoich landing a two-pointer for them.

Bradley responded for the Cork champions before Pádraig Ó Sé rounded off his team’s winning tally late on, securing a second provincial success in the grade.
