Donegal will play Armagh in the Ulster senior football championship final in two weeks’ time after edging out Tyrone by 0-18 to 0-16 in extra time at Celtic Park.

Jim McGuinness’s side forced extra time with a Brendan McCole point in the added minutes that left it at 0-14 apiece come the full-time whistle and they produced a big finish at the end of the added periods to see out the win.

After having come through an extra time battle against Cavan seven days ago, Tyrone produced a promising first-half performance here that saw points from Darragh Canavan, Niall Morgan (free) and Cathal McShane sending them towards a 0-8 to 0-5 half-time lead.

Jason McGee sailed over the first two points of the restart for Donegal and, despite falling three behind again, they’d stay within touching distance of their neighbours as McCole’s point from a rebounded effort erased Canavan’s mark and sent this provincial semi-final into extra time.

Jeaic Mac Ceallbhui and Mattie Donnelly traded early points in the first-half of the added periods ahead of Michael McKernan and Paddy McBrearty also swapping scores.

A Shane O’Donnell point would give the Tir Chonaill men the lead at the break and, after a scoreless stretch, it was McBrearty that ensured the win for McGuinness’s men with this 90th minute point (watch it below).
