Roanmore are into the quarter-finals of the Waterford senior hurling championship following an emphatic 2-30 to 0-10 victory over Tallow at Fraher Field last night.
Lee Hearne and Paul O’Sullivan bagged the goals while former Waterford senior Gavin O’Brien struck 0-12 (0-8f) for the two-time champions as they coasted to the 26-point win to move into knock-out stages.
The result also means that Tallow are into the preliminary quarter-finals where they’ll join De La Salle and Passage who also squared off yesterday.
De La Salle edged a 1-16 to 0-18 win at Walsh Park, where Eddie Meaney’s late goal proved the difference between the teams in the end.
Today sees Fourmilewater and Ferrybank clash in Dungarvan while tomorrow afternoon sees defending champions Ballygunner back in action when they take on Lismore in Fraher Field.
