Dublin can thank goalkeeper Sean Brennan for this sensational penalty save after they held off Wexford’s late surge to win by 0-24 to 0-23 at Chadwicks Wexford Park this evening.
In what was a pulsating Leinster senior hurling championship second round encounter, Wexford had the opportunity to net the game’s only goal when Rory O’Connor was pulled down in the Dublin square in the 52nd minute.
Referee Fergal Horgan waved horizontal arms and Model County ‘keeper Mark Fanning stepped up to strike the penalty which was brilliantly saved by his opposite number and it proved a crucial juncture in the contest.

There was also this heroic block from Dublin defender Danny Sutcliffe in the game's dying stages to help deny the home side the equaliser they were so badly in search of.
