Cummins on his way back to Kingdom
Brendan Cummins as Tipperary U20 hurling manager

Brendan Cummins is set to be named as Kerry’s new senior hurling coach.

Radio Kerry is reporting that the former Tipperary goalkeeper will work alongside manager John Griffin and selectors Aidan Healy and Sean Maunsell in 2027. Cummins replaces Kerry hurling great Shane Brick, who stepped down after this summer’s Christy Ring Cup final loss to Derry.

The two-time All-Ireland SHC winner previously served as Kerry goalkeeping coach following his inter-county retirement in 2013. He has spent the last five years in charge of the Tipperary U20s, during which is guided them to All-Ireland glory last year and to two Munster titles in 2024 and ’25. The Premier County young guns also contested this year's Munster final, only to lose to eventual All-Ireland champions Clare in a penalty shootout.
