All-Ireland Masters finals taking place in Cavan

The Lacken Celtic GAA grounds in Cavan will host an All-Ireland Gaelic Masters Football Championship final double-header tomorrow (Saturday, September 12).

Dublin and Donegal will contest the top-tier Mickey Loftus Cup decider at the Cavan venue at 3pm, with Ray McBreen from Leitrim/Longford on the whistle. In the semi-finals, a star-studded Dublin side - which includes Kevin McManamon, Bernard Brogan, Eoghan O'Gara and Ross McConnell - saw off Waterford by 3-18 to 0-10, while last year's runners-up Donegal were 1-6 to 0-7 winners over Kerry.

It will be preceded by the Plate final between neighbours Derry and Tyrone at 1pm, with Meath’s Gabriel Patterson taking charge. Tyrone have won the last five Mickey Loftus Cups, but have to content themselves with a shot at the Plate competition this year after suffering a couple of defeats in the group stages.

Admission to the finals is €10 for adults and €5 for OAP/students, with children going free.
