Limerick will open their Munster senior hurling championship defence at home to Cork next year.

The provision 2027 Munster SHC fixtures have been released and confirm that the Cork will be faving the reigning All-Ireland champions away from home for the third season in-a-row.

The other provisional first round fixture sees Tipperary hosts Waterford who recently confirmed Stephen Molumphy as their new manager on a three-year term.

2024 All-Ireland champions Clare begin their provincial championship journey next season at home to 2025 Liam MacCarthy Cup winners Tipp.

Round 1: Limerick v Cork, Tipperary v Waterford.

Round 2: Clare v Tipperary; Waterford v Limerick.

Round 3: (Separate weekends): Clare v Cork (first); Tipperary v Limerick (second).

Round 4: Cork v Waterford, Limerick v Clare.

Round 5: Cork v Tipperary, Waterford v Clare.
