Limerick captain Cian Lynch says the Shannonsiders are prepared for the “intensity” they expect Galway to bring in Sunday’s All-Ireland senior hurling championship final.
The two sides are set for their fourth ever meeting on hurling’s biggest stage – and first since 2018 when Limerick ended their 45-year wait for the Liam MacCarthy Cup with 3-16 to 2-18 triumph at Croke Park.
Speaking to RTE Sport this week, Lynch, who has declared himself fully fit for the final after a leg injury saw him start on the bench in the semi-final win over Clare, says the Treaty men know the size of the task they face on Sunday.
"We know how good this Galway team are and we are prepared for the intensity that they will bring," said the Patrickswell clubman.
"As we've seen in the championship this year, you can't take the foot off the pedal no matter what stage of the game it is.
"Galway are a great side, you saw the way came through the last day [against Cork] and through the Leinster championship. They have to be respected."
